π€ What a Brilliant First Comedy Taster! ❤️π
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our first Letchworth Comedy Workshop Taster!
We hoped to create a relaxed, welcoming space where people could try something new, have a laugh and meet others — and that's exactly what it felt like. By the end of the evening, it felt less like a workshop and more like a big family get-together. ❤️
And thank you for all the feedback. We are listening! π
You told us you'd like:
✍️ More comedy writing – including crafting and editing stories and developing material.
π Techniques for making comedy more relatable and finding humour in everyday experiences.
π€ More microphone time for those who want to practise speaking and performing.
π More warm-up exercises and comedy games – these were a big hit!
π More writing techniques and time to develop and improve ideas.
π️ Visiting stand-up comedians to share their experience, perform and answer questions.
π Friday evening sessions once a month – this was the most popular option.
π· And we're pleased that the proposed £30 per workshop was felt to be good value.

We are going to use your feedback to help shape the workshops.
Not everybody comes for exactly the same reason. Some people want to write comedy, some want to build confidence, some want to learn microphone and performance skills, and others simply want to meet people, be creative and have a really good laugh.
So we're also looking at having smaller breakout groups during parts of the evening, where you can spend more time on the areas that interest you — such as writing, editing material, storytelling, microphone technique or performance.
We will also endeavour to bring in working stand-up comedians whenever their gig schedules allow, so you can hear from people who are actually out there performing.
Most importantly, we want to keep that lovely atmosphere we had at the first session: friendly, supportive, relaxed and no pressure to perform.
Come to learn.
Come to write.
Come to build confidence.
Come to try the mic.
Or just come and have a laugh with us. π
Thank you again to everyone who helped make our first taster such a lovely evening.
